Orthodox Marxism
Orthodox Marxism is the Marxism associated with the Second International. Orthodox Marxism emphasises that Marxism is scientific, a strong historical materialism, often thought of as a form of economic determinism, and opposition to revisionism. Kautsky is considered the most important figure in this current.
Orthodox Marxism as current withered after the Second International but a minor reincarnation has occurred through the work Lenin rediscovered. This tendency is sometimes referred to as Kautsky revivalism or neo-Kautskyism. The Communist Party of Great Britain (PCC) was the first and most prominent political organisations to adopt this tendency. Two small groups were founded in the United States and the Netherlands based on similar political positions (being Red Party and Communist Platform respectively).
